A physician from New York City, New York, Brealyn Sellers, MD, has treated patients at her general adult and addiction psychiatry practice since 1998. Dr. Brealyn Sellers treats patients for mood, anxiety, and substance abuse disorders. She provides medication management, out-patient detox, and other ancillary services. Her specialty is in women’s mental health care.
Dr. Sellers worked with Bellevue Hospital Center as director of psychiatric services, methadone treatment maintenance program in 2001. She supervised the administration of methadone treatments to patients on a daily basis, working closely with nursing, administrative, and counseling staff until 2004.
Dr. Sellers has also participated in research published in peer-reviewed publications, such as Blood and Psychiatric News, and co-authored the book On Call Psychiatry. She gave a poster presentation at the College for Problems of Drug Dependence at an annual meeting covering the unique effects of alcoholism upon women. Dr. Sellers is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology, and American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry. She attends continuing medical education conferences. She earned her medical degree from the University of Tennessee. Additionally, she completed an internship in psychiatry at Mt. Sinai Medical Center and her residency with New York University/Bellevue Hospital Center.
